Where the fixtures and results come from, and how a bet is settled.
Where the sports data comes from
Nothing on this site is typed in by hand. Fixtures, kick-off times, team names, crests and final scores are pulled automatically from specialised providers, one per sport:
- ⚽ Football — Football-Data.org
- 🏀 Basketball and 🏉 rugby — TheSportsDB
- 🎾 Tennis — SportScore
- 🏎️ Formula 1 — Jolpica
Fixtures are refreshed several times a day, and results within minutes of the final whistle. We publish no odds of our own: FreeBetArena is a prediction game, not a bookmaker.
How a bet is settled
- Bets on an event close 10 minutes before it starts. After that the market is locked for everyone, with no exception.
- When the provider reports the event as finished, the full-time score it publishes is what settles the markets — the same figure you see on the match page.
- Every bet on the event is then settled automatically, and the Arenas are credited in the same operation as the result.
- If a provider never reports a result, or reports an impossible one, the event is cancelled and every bet on it is voided: nobody wins and nobody loses Arenas.
- A postponed event keeps its bets until the new date. A definitively cancelled event voids them.
A settlement can be corrected by hand only to repair a provider error, never to change the outcome of a market that settled correctly.
What the community percentages mean
On a match page, the percentage next to an option is the share of FreeBetArena players who picked it. It is computed from the bets actually placed on that match, it is not a probability, and it is not a recommendation — the crowd is wrong often enough to make the game interesting.
A mistake to report?
A wrong score, a missing match, a bet settled the wrong way: write to contact@freebetarena.com with the match and what you expected. Corrections are applied to every affected account, not only to the one who reported it.
